How to enable the Redis extension for PHP

This article describes how to enable the Redis extension for PHP on a shared hosting account.

Before you can use Redis with your account, you must first enable the Redis PHP extension. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to cPanel.
    If you do not know how to log in to your cPanel account, please see this article.
  2. On the Tools page, in the Software section of the cPanel home screen, click Select PHP Version:

  3. In the list of PHP extensions, in the R section, select the redis check box:

    If you do not see a list of PHP extensions, click the Extensions tab.
  4. PHP is now ready to use Redis.
